Product Details

Being able to perceive and conceptualize speech sounds is crucial to reading. That is why the results from the Lindamood Auditory Conceptualization Test, Third Edition (LAC–3) are helpful to SLPs, special educators, and reading specialists. The test also measures the ability to distinguish and manipulate sounds — much needed for success in reading and spelling. The third edition offers a number of enhancements:

  • Standard scores, percentile ranks, and age and grade equivalents are provided for individuals between the ages of 5:0 through 18:11
  • Three categories of items have been added that extend the test into the multisyllable level of processing
  • All items on the test were evaluated using both conventional item analysis and differential item functioning analysis
  • Many validity studies have been conducted with special attention devoted to showing that the test is valid for a wide variety of subgroups, as well as for the general population; studies showing the absence of gender, racial, linguistic, and ethnic bias have been added
  • An audio CD demonstrating correct pronunciation and administration of test items is provided with the complete test kit
