Rationale for Caregiver Report, Polytomous Scoring & Other Innovations on Bayley-4
Presenter: Glen P Aylward, PhD, ABPP
This session will focus on the theoretical foundations of Bayley-4, and rationale for new concepts introduced to further refine its main purpose of identifying developmental delays. These concepts include:
1) The introduction of a polytomous scoring approach (scores of 0, 1, & 2), rather than a dichotomous scoring format, which better captures the emergence and mastery of developmental skills.
2) Introduction of Caregiver Report in approximately 50 items
3) Reduced administration time through the introduction of innovations such as digital administration.
4) Refinement of content to accomplish its main purpose, namely to better identify developmental delays.
