Dorothea S. Goldenberg, EdD

Dorothea Goldenberg is a nationally recognized education consultant with more than 40 years of experience in many administrative, curricular, and instructional positions for all levels of standard and special education programs. She holds an MS in special education-learning disabilities from De Paul University and an EdD in curriculum, research, and early-childhood education from Loyola University.

Dr. Goldenberg has served in the field of education as a classroom teacher, principal, university lecturer, state department specialist, university department chairperson, director of a psychoeducational clinic, special services coordinator, and grant writer. Her talents are recognized by major publishers of early-childhood materials, textbook publishers, and several state departments. In 1994, Dr. Goldenberg adapted a series of classical fairy tales for the Treasury of Fairy Tales, published by Publications International.

Most recently, as an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Illinois Medical School, Department of Psychiatry, Institute for Juvenile Research, Dr. Goldenberg brought her knowledge of school systems and the needs of educational professionals to an adolescent suicide prevention project funded by Ronald McDonald House Charities. Her assessment and educational research talents were instrumental in the development of training and assessment tools and a CD component (“Team Up to Save Lives”) distributed nationally to all junior and senior high schools at no charge.
