Andrew R. Block, PhD, ABPP

Andrew R. Block, PhD, ABPP, joined Texas Back Institute as a clinical health psychologist in 1990. Dr. Block earned his undergraduate degree from Haverford College in Pennsylvania. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Applied-Experimental Psychology at Dartmouth College where he was a clinical intern in the Behavioral Medicine Unit at Dartmouth Medical School. He then went on to a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

He is board-certified in Clinical Health Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in Division 38 (Health Psychology). He is the author of many peer-reviewed articles and 4 books, including The Psychology of Spine Surgery, and Pre-surgical Psychological Screening: Understanding Patients, Improving Outcomes.
