Shula Parush, PhD
Professor Shula Parush completed her graduate studies in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California where she studied under Dr. Jean Ayres.
She received her PhD in Physiology from the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine and played a central role in the establishment of a graduate program in Occupational Therapy at the Hebrew University School of Occupational Therapy in Jerusalem. Today, the program offers undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs.
Her main field of research interest relates to sensory modulation disorders using physiological and behavioral correlates and the majority of her research is conducted within an interdisciplinary framework. This approach affords the opportunity to study in depth and from various perspectives the significant processes related to sensory modulation. In her field of research she is a reviewer for many scientific journals and grants.
In 2008, she was nominated by the American Occupational Therapy Foundation as a member of the Academy of Research. Professor Parush currently serves as the Director of the School of Occupational Therapy of the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine and is the Chair of its graduate program.
