Conducting Remote Assessments for ASD Using the Vineland-3 Webinar (Recording)

Presenter(s): Celine Saulnier, Ph.D.

This webinar will discuss how to administer the Vineland-3 Comprehensive Interview via telehealth and how the information obtained can help inform the diagnostic process. Profiles of adaptive behavior in ASD will also be discussed.

Given the distinct profiles of adaptive behavior deficits observed in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across the lifespan, it is now standard practice to conduct an assessment of adaptive behavior as part of an ASD diagnostic evaluation. The most reliable method of administration continues to be through a semi-structured interview with a parent or caregiver. This webinar will discuss how to administer the Vineland-3 Comprehensive Interview via telehealth and how the information obtained can help inform the diagnostic process. Profiles of adaptive behavior in ASD will also be discussed.

After this session, participants should be able to:

  1. Define adaptive behavior & differentiate adaptive behavior from cognition or ability
  2. Describe best practices in conducting a Vineland-3 interview and apply these practices in virtual or telehealth settings
  3. Identify common profiles of adaptive functioning in ASD for individuals with and without cognitive impairment
