After determining which students are struggling or emerging readers, you can use these efficient supplemental tools to further define what students need to become proficient readers.

Learning objectives: After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Review the integration of the Focus for Instruction into planning specific teaching/learning activities in each area of instructional need.
  • Identify emerging and struggling readers and then determine Word Analysis Tasks that assess skill deficits to identify what the student needs to learn next.
  • Complete Progress Monitoring Assessments to inform instruction and help students reach grade-level reading benchmarks.
